Three Things for Thursday

  • Enjoy the short video “The Unseen Sea” by Simon Christen with music, “Mary’s Song,” by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. For Simon, an animator and photographer, “shooting time lapse footage is very time-consuming, but extremely rewarding when you capture something beautiful that was hidden to the naked eye.”
  • Perspective, from Brian Andreas:

    Light
There is a perfectly still moment right
before dawn, when the sun gathers itself
& then steps into the dark world & everything
is so filled with light that any doubts
from that long night are barely a memory.
It is the way of all things that
the night ends & the light returns.
    The light always returns.

  • There is always something to learn from the Sketch Guy column, written by Carl Richards for the New York Times: “Ask Yourself This: What Burdens Is That Other Person Carrying?”

I’m glad you are enjoying them! I especially appreciated what Brian Andreas said – “the light always returns.”

The article and story about people’s burdens was good to read and spend time pondering. There is just so much we do not know about what an individual is dealing with. Such a good reminder.

I agree, a good reminder. The insight reinforces the importance of everyday kindness.
