- From the New York Times, “Artists Explore a New Canvas: Tennis Courts” by Andrew Chow gives us a look at the artists and their designs featured as part of the Art Courts project. According to Chow, the project “was spearheaded by the United States Tennis Association as part of a 50th anniversary celebration of the U.S. Open. Organizers hope to inject a dash of enthusiasm and color into community tennis courts in underserved neighborhoods—as well as enliven a sport that, to some, possesses a reputation for stuffiness and adherence to rules.”

“It’s the rough side of the mountain that’s easiest to climb; the smooth side doesn’t have anything for you to hang on to.”

So happy “Three Things for Thursday” is back from vacation!

I agree!

I loved the post and along with others I’m happy you are sharing things to keep for you and for us. As somewhat of a new bystander with you, it seems “the things we keep” move our hearts. Thanks, Sue. We just returned from viewing the magnitude of a starry night shimmering over Lake Superior and not unlike “A New View of the Moon,” no matter how many times I witness these sorts of stunning views, my thoughts meander back to them. Additionally, I could not help but notice how many people expressed their spontaneous joy for the immensity of the moon with, “Oh my God…”

Jules, wonderful insights, and I especially enjoyed your comment about the things we keep being those that move our hearts. Thank you for the beautiful picture you created in my mind with your description of the starry night shimmering over Lake Superior.
